Apple Warns Of Short-term iMac Shortage Ahead Of New Models

Apple has recently begun to advise its direct and indirect sales channels of possible shortages of its iMac line of desktops, and the resellers should begin to clear off all their existing models for the time being. While it hasn’t been officially announced just yet, word is that the replacement systems will be arriving sometime in the next few weeks. Improvements will likely include the use of Intel’s dual-core i3 processor, ditching the Core 2 Duo option, and the company might also include the previously-rumored USB 3.0 and FireWire 1600 and 3200 data transfer options. We’re certainly looking forward to more powerful hardware for the iMac, and hopefully Apple won’t make us wait too long.
