CyberMotion Ferrari Simulator Sports A Giant Robot Arm

Combine the fun of a fast racing simulator and a robotic arm, what do you get? The CyberMotion Simulator, obviously. This simulator was designed to realistically replicate the experience of driving a Ferrari without actually having to buy one. Players will be able to sit in the driving seat about 7 feet off the ground and control a Ferrari F2007 car on the virtual track. The robot arm, which is normally found in amusement parks will simulate the bumps and motions of the racing car, and you can even hear the robot whine when the driver is turning at high speeds. The researchers came up with this setup with the goal of understanding how humans experience the sense of motion, and they figured such a racing simulator would be the best way to do so. Check out a video of the CyberMotion in action after the jump.
