LG Offers Good News Billboard In Times Square

It’s not a secret what we’re fed more bad news than good news on a daily basis and with that in mind, LG is looking to do something about it. The Korean company has unveiled plans to install an interactive billboard in Times Square, above the corner of 45th Street and 7th Avenue. The “Good News” Billboard will span 81 feet around the corner by 47 feet tall, making it the largest Full HD screen in Times Square at 4,200 square feet and a resolution of 1984 x 1136. The billboard will also offer LG’s first-ever Good News Ambassador, an animated character who will reside in the billboard and invite passersby to share their own good news via text message and tweets. The billboard also features a virtually frameless design of four-inches and is 15 percent more energy efficient than the billboard screen it replaced, offering an energy-saving feature that automatically controls brightness depending on the time of day and weather. Finally, LG has also installed 13 of its high-performance solar modules on the roof, further boosting its eco-credentials.
