We already know of Apple TV and Google TV, but what about Android TV? While it’s not an official product from Google, the folks over at Vidtonic are planning to showcase an interesting piece of kit at the upcoming CES. The kit promises to allow you to build your own Android TV device, in case you happen to loathe pre-built devices. For your money, you’ll get items such as the casing, cables, power supply, motherboard and the necessary software tools. Of course, a DIY kit isn’t going to appeal to everybody out there, but depending on how it’s priced, it could be an interesting device for hobbyists. The platform is expected to launch in the 2nd quarter of 2011 and users could possibly get their kits as early as Q1 of 2011.
