optimus-l9-2Earlier this year at MWC 2013, there was one odd device out from LG’s stable of smartphones, which so happened to be the LG Optimus L9 being the sole device from the L range that will not be on the receiving end of a successor. Well, things do change from time to time, and word on the street has it that the LG Optimus L9 II will be unveiled in due time – not to mention with a launch date following closely after that. From what we can tell according to the leaked photo of the alleged LG Optimus L9 II above, this particular device does share many physical similarities to its predecessor, but one main difference would be the lack of a hardware Home key, as that was ditched in favor of a capacitive one.

The LG Optimus L9 II has been rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon S4 chipset with a dual-core 1GHz Krait processor, Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB RAM. Other hardware specifications include an 8-megapixel shooter at the back with a 1.3-megapixel camera in front, 8GB of internal memory, and a 2,150mAh battery. Whispers also have it that it will be Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean that will run the show, and all we need now is an official announcement to cement the nitty gritty. After all, the device has already hit the FCC, so it should not be too far away from a release.
