xbox-one-external-hddThere is reason to believe that a future Xbox One system update would see the ability for the Xbox One console to support external hard drives, at least according to an Xbox One developer who prefers to remain anonymous. The developer posted an image that you can see above concerning this functionality, where it was accompanied by a caption which mentioned, “Adding more hype on the list of things to come.”

It is a pretty damning piece (in a very good way, of course) of evidence assuming what has been shown above is true to the bone, of course. In fact, those who have already taken part in the Xbox One preview programme have said to have received a taster of what one can expect from future Xbox One updates, which reportedly include fixes to Party Chat alongside a new manner of checking for system updates in a manual manner.

The good folks over at Microsoft have yet to detail the upcoming functionality that will be part of future updates in a formal manner, although they did mention in the past that they are working on rolling out external hard drive support. Perhaps the next update could very well be the one, don’t you think so?
