We have been hearing for a couple of weeks now that Huawei is readying a new flagship smartphone. Apparently codenamed “Mulan,” the device is said to rival flagships from companies like Samsung and Apple. A major unveiling event for this smartphone has already been planned to take place on June 24th but before that happens we get to take a good look at the purported flagship courtesy of some leaked photos.

By looking at these photos it appears that the Mulan touts a very sleek design as well as a 5-inch full HD display up front. Instead of screen keys it has capacitive buttons. A 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera are expected onboard alongside a 8-core Kirin 920 processor with 3GB of RAM. It also appears to have a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Even though the last flagship from Huawei was called the Honor 3, at first it was believed that the Mulan would naturally be called the Huawei Honor 4. But it looks like the company is going skip ahead by two places and call this the Honor 6, at least that’s what it says on the teaser invite that the company has already rolled out.

No word as yet on official specifications, price and actual release date. It is also not known if Huawei plans on offering it in the U.S. through its new ecommerce website that has been set up exclusively for customers in the States. [Images via Weibo]
