It just a couple of weeks tech companies of all sizes from all over the world will gather in Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show 2015. It is one of the biggest shows of its kind in the world where countless products are unveiled every single day. Samsung always has a strong presence at the show and its not going to be any different this time around. The company will showcase the Tizen TV though which will run on Samsung’s homegrown OS.

Kim Hyun-suk, the boss at Samsung’s visual display division, said that while there will be no surprise shows from the company during CES, visitors will get to see a Tizen TV. Hyun-suk didn’t say if its going to be a main attraction at the Samsung booth.

Given that Samsung plans to commercialize the Tizen TV in the coming year showcasing it at CES 2015 would not be a bad idea. The product will get exposure and this would help build awareness about a new smart TV that runs on a nascent operating system. Tizen is a cross-platform OS that also powers products like smartwatches and smartphones.

No word as yet if Samsung is going to reveal the launch details about this television during the keynote at CES 2015. The company’s co-CEO B.K. Yoon is expected to give the keynote speech in the coming year’s Consumer Electronics Show.
