moto-g-2014-review-2So last year Motorola announced that they would be bringing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its 2013-2014 range of smartphones. While some devices have since received their update, the rest of Motorola’s lineup has yet to see it. Now just yesterday Motorola promised that we could expect a release soon, and sure enough they have.

According to a smattering of user reports, it seems that Motorola US has started to roll out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Moto G handsets. It should be pointed out that this is the 2014 Moto G and there are some of who are reporting that they have yet to receive the update themselves.

It is possible that Motorola could be selecting some lucky users to test drive the update before rolling it out en masse, but that’s what soak tests are for. Alternatively there is a chance that the update rollout has been staggered, as is the case with most Android updates, so if you have yet to receive it, be patient and perhaps you will receive a notification in the next few days.

In any case we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding the update to Android 5.0.2, so do check back with us later for the details. In the meantime have any of our readers with the 2014 Moto G received their Android 5.0.2 OTA update yet?
