Say you’re looking for a retail store or you’re trying to find a restaurant that suits your dietary needs. One of the ways to go out finding out more information is to either check out their website, send them an email, or call them, but if for some reason neither of these options are available to you, Google might have you covered.
According to reports, Google is said to be testing out a new feature in which users can chat with businesses live via the search results as you can see in the screenshot above. At the moment Google already lists the business details of a company in search results, such as address, phone number, website, opening hours, and etc., so this will be one more featured tacked onto it.
TechCrunch has since reached out to Google to ask about the feature to which Google confirmed that it was in testing. Unfortunately Google did not specify if and when the service would launch – for all we know it could simply be an experiment which might not make it to a final release, which is what many companies are known to do.
This feature is also similar to what Path Talk is offering, except that in this case Google has the advantage of having more resources at their disposal, not to mention Google has the infrastructure in place like Google Maps in which they could inject the feature, ultimately giving Path Talk a run for its money, but what do you guys think? Is this a feature you’d like to see in the future?
