aiaiai tma2The concept of modular headphones aren’t new, although for the most part previous modular headphones were more about cosmetics where users could swap the earcups for a different design, or swap the bands or even the cable. However the folks at AiAiAi believe that modular headphones should go deeper, thus the launch of the TMA-2.

For those unfamiliar, AiAiAi is a Danish company responsible for the TMA-1 headphones which have been popularized by some DJs. With the TMA-2, the company has introduced a modular system in which customers can customize pretty much every aspect of their headphones. This includes the headband, cables, speaker units, and earpads, essentially allowing users to create the headphones of their dreams.

tma2_configThe speaker units will come in four different driver options, and users will also be able to choose from five different earpads ranging from microfiber and PU leather, to on-ear or over-ear style, depending on your preference. To make things easier for the budding audiophile, AiAiAi has launched preset configurations that customers can choose from to get started.

They also have artist configurations if you’d like to be able to wear the headphones that your favorite DJ uses. The prices will vary depending on the model you choose or the components you choose, so you could end up spending quite a fair bit if you’re looking to customize every aspect of it, but if that’s something you don’t mind spending your money on, head on over to AiAiAi’s website for the details.
