google-logo-2011-10-25If you’re looking for a handyman to help fix your clogged pipes or maybe your roof, you could either call someone you already know, hit up the good old Yellow Pages, or do a quick search on Google. We’re sure more than one of us has turned to the use of Google, and now according to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Google wants to make your life even easier.

The report claims that Google will be updating its Search feature to better allow users to connect to handymen. This will join other similar features offered by Google with regards to searching for hotel rooms, flights, certain products, and recently car-insurance quotes. One of their sources has also told them that service providers could even upload their schedules onto Google where interested customers could then sign up for an appointment.

However as the report points out, one of the challenges faced by Google with this endeavor is that it will require them signing up multiple service providers in order to make the feature truly useful, not to mention give customers lots of choices to choose from. No doubt that this is an interesting feature and could save users a couple of steps, although they might have to put up with the competition from the likes of Amazon who has recently launched Home Services, a service in which customers can also search for handymen in their area.
