htc-gripA discovery that was made not too long ago in the Bluetooth SIG database showed that there is still light at the end of the proverbial tunnel where the HTC Grip is concerned, although there were some rather valid reasons to believe otherwise before that. The HTC Grip was revealed to the masses at HTC’s keynote at MWC 2015 in Barcelona earlier this year, where it was touted to be the very first wearable device that the smartphone manufacturer worked on.

Despite being unveiled on stage as well as making it available to journalists for testing and demonstration purposes, anything else about the HTC Grip remained a secret – or rather, no further information was shared. At MWC 2015, HTC did mention that the HTC Grip will be making its way to the US in spring, but now that summer is here, it looks as though that has failed to come to pass.

The HTC Grip, as we knew it last, will feature a 1.8” 32 x 160 PMOLED curved display, Under Armor’s fitness and social platform, GPS capability, and a $200 price point. It is nice to see it being spotted at the Bluetooth SIG. The $200 asking price might be a stretch for most folks, especially since this is just a wearable fitness device.
