When it comes to camera lens clip-ons for smartphones, there is a good chance you might have thought of Olloclip, but in case you’re after a little variety and want to see what other companies out there have to offer, you’re in luck. Lensbaby has recently announced its Creative Mobile Kit which is basically a mount, two lenses, and a kickstand designed specifically for smartphones in mind.
The mount itself is a tad bulky, as you can see in the photo above. It is also rather bright meaning that it will be pretty obvious. The lenses will slide into the mount and will remain attached through the use of a magnet that helps hold it in place. The slot where the lens goes is also where the kickstand will go.
As for the lenses itself, these are the LM-20 and LM-30 lenses. These are not your typical lenses so if you’re after some “serious” photography gear, this won’t be it. Instead if you’re after some fun photos and some weird effects, then thats where the LM-20 and LM-30 shines. The LM-20 will feature a “center sweet spot of focus” before dropping off into blur.
The LM-30 on the other hand offers similar effects, except that the focus image in the center will then be surrounded by reflections thanks to the way the lens has been designed.
