sexting-crimeSelfies can be fatal – especially if you were to pose with a loaded gun. Well, thankfully this boy here shot a selfie that did not kill anyone, but it still got him into a whole lot of hot soup. Apparently, he has been charged with a crime for having shot a naked selfie, sending it to a girl at school (whom he fancies, I suppose). This saw him being charged with the crime of making and distributing indecent images.

The 14 year old boy was not arrested or charged, although his name might eventually end up on a police database for an entire decade. Not only that, this particular information might be disclosed to future employers, and I guess by that time he would be 24 at most – so it should not be too much of an issue if he were to explain himself, as he must’ve done so in the heat of a moment.

The teenager’s mother did mention that her son had been “humiliated”, and defended him to a certain extent by calling him “naive” at best and simply being “a teenager” at worst. I suppose before the age of selfies came around, the equivalent of doing so was to flash yourself – which was unthinkable back then. The mother then mentioned that many children at the school also participated in “sexting” as a form of “flirting”, although we are not sure where she got that “data” from. Many?
