facebook-security-androidWhen it comes to security of apps on your mobile devices, not all apps were created equal. Some apps might come with really tight security and offers up protection like two-factor authentication, while others might simply prefer a more simple and straightforward username and password combination to protect your account.

Now for those of you who are heavy Facebook mobile users, the social network has introduced a new security tool called Security Checkup. Basically the idea behind the app is to keep your Facebook account as secure as possible, such as logging out of Facebook accounts on devices you haven’t used in a while.

According to Facebook Product Manager Melissa Luu-Van, “In only a few minutes, Security Checkup helps you log out of Facebook from browsers and devices where you haven’t used Facebook in a while, turn on Login Alerts in case someone else tries to log into your account from a new computer or phone, and protect your password.”

Unfortunately there is only an Android version of the app available for now, but according to Facebook an iOS version will be coming soon so keep an eye out for that. Security Checkup can be accessed from the Facebook app’s Help Center, so do check it out if you’d like to help make your Facebook account a bit more secure.
