xiaomi vrLast week we reported that Xiaomi was supposed to launch their VR headset on the 1st of August, but given that we’re already in the 3rd of August, obviously that rumor did not pan out. However a more recent report suggested that the date could have been shifted to the 4th of August, which is tomorrow.

Assuming that the new report is right, it seems that a day ahead of the headset’s launch, a photo of it has made its way online courtesy of MySmartPrice (via PhoneArena). Unfortunately there’s not much we can tell from this photo alone, but if anything it does look pretty standard as far as VR headsets are concerned.

Other rumors we’ve heard about it is that it will work with a smartphone, meaning that unlike headsets like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or PlayStation VR, this will be more in line with the Samsung Gear VR which will require a smartphone to “power” it. It is also said to support Google’s Daydream VR platform, and it has also been rumored to be priced at $99 which is admittedly not that expensive.

In any case we guess we’ll find out all the official details tomorrow so be sure to check back with us then for the details, assuming that there are any details to be had.
