Samsung-Galaxy-S7-vs-S7-edge-03_900If a recent survey is to be believed, 40% of those who were surveyed claimed that they will not be returning to another Samsung product again following the disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7. This was echoed by famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claims that half of Note 7 customers are expected to switch to the iPhone 7 Plus.

However Sprint’s CEO begs to differ. In a recent conference call with reports, Sprint’s CEO Marcelo Claure was quoted as saying, “Most of them are basically switching to a Galaxy S7.” Claure adds, “Even with this, they begrudgingly gave back their Note 7. I’m a believer that Samsung will recover.”

We suppose there are some customers who believe that this incident with the Note 7 is a one-off incident. After all the company has been very successfully churning out phones over the past few years without much incident, so it’s hard to fault a company who has had such a stellar track record.

Another possibility is that Samsung has been incentivizing the return of the Note 7, giving customers $100 in credit if they were to exchange their Note 7 for another Samsung product. The company also recently announced that in South Korea, Note 7 customers would be eligible for 50% off the Galaxy S8 or Note 8 in 2017 if they are interested.
