google-logo-big-gLast week Google posted a mysterious puzzle which many seemed to speculate could be about revealing the dates for Google I/O 2017. Turns out that when you have the collective internet trying to solve such a puzzle, it didn’t take long before it was speculated that the answers to the puzzle are for the dates 17-19 of May, 2017.

Turns out the internet was right because Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai has since confirmed that those are indeed the dates. His tweet reads, “Yep, it’s true: I/O’17 will be at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA on May 17-19. See you in 110 days :) #io17” We guess given the previous dates of Google I/O, it didn’t really come as big of a surprise.

As to what we might be able to expect, we can safely assume that we’ll probably be given a look at the next major build of Android which is Android O. What the “O” will stand for remains to be seen, but an obvious choice would be “Oreo”. We might also be looking at new hardware since last year, Google unveiled Google Home, so maybe we can expect an updated model or maybe some variations.

There could also be new software announcements since Google I/O 2016 saw the launch of Allo and Duo. Either way those are the official dates so you’ll want to mark those down on your calendar if you want to see what Google will be up to.

Updated: A previous version of this article had “March” instead of “May”, please forgive us for the typo ;/
