hover_camera_1[CES 2017] Drones are handy at getting some lovely aerial footage, which is great if you’re trying to record some action scenes or some chase scenes. However if you’d rather not pilot the drone manually, you might be interested in a drone that was unveiled at CES 2017 called the Hover Camera Passport.

This is a drone that comes with “advanced” AI technology that can actually track the person’s face. This means that all you have to do is get the drone to recognize and lock onto your face, and you’re good to go as the drone should have no problems tracking your movements. Once you’re done, you can just grab the drone or tap the app and it will land.

Also as you can tell, the Hover Camera Passport is not your typical quadcopter design. Instead its creators have chosen to make it look like a box which in turn makes the drone foldable. This allows users to pack it up and bring it with them wherever they go, as opposed to more typical drones where you might require a special carry case.

Unfortunately the Hover Camera Passport does not come cheap. It is priced at $599 so you’ll have to decide if its features are worth the money, or if you might be better off with cheaper and more conventional drones. You can pre-order it via its website where it is expected to ship in the next 1-3 months.
