instagram-live-storiesInstagram’s Stories feature was introduced a while ago, and it was only in November last year that the company further enhanced it with Live Stories, which are basically Stories that are streamed live similar to Facebook Live and other live streaming platforms. However Live Stories was launched on a limited scale, but not anymore.

In an announcement on Instagram’s blog, it looks like Live Stories will now be rolled out on a global scale. According to Instagram, “Today we’re excited to share that live video on Instagram Stories — a new way to connect with your friends and followers right now — will be rolling out to our entire global community over the next week. From real-time makeup tutorials to live DJ sets, it’s been exciting to watch as the community shares new sides of their lives.”

This means that if you did not have access to Live Stories before, you should be able to check the feature out now. “To go live, just swipe right from feed and choose Start Live Video in the camera. When you’re done, your live story will disappear from the app. You may also see Top Live on Explore, connecting you to exciting live stories happening now.”

So far Instagram’s Stories feature has been pretty well-received. So much so that the company has plans to monetize it by introducing ads into it.
