cortana ukApple has Siri, Google has Google Assistant, Microsoft has Cortana, Amazon has Alexa, and last we heard, Samsung has a voice assistant rumored to be called Bixby. However it seems like Nokia doesn’t want to be left out of the loop because thanks to a recent trademark filing, the Finnish company could have a voice assistant of their own in the works.

The trademark filing was for a piece of software called “Viki”, which according to the trademark description seems to sound like a voice assistant platform. It reads, “Software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and web digital assistants working with knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice based interface.”

Of course this is merely speculation at the moment but it certainly does sound like Nokia has their own voice assistant planned. We’re not sure when the company plans on launching this voice assistant, but presumably it could launch alongside their flagship smartphone which we’re hoping will be announced at MWC 2017.

Recently HMD, the company licensed to build Nokia’s phones, has announced the Nokia 6 Android smartphone. It comes with some decent specs but it is clearly not the flagship, and there was no mention of “Viki” either, but either way check back with us during MWC 2017 next month for the details.
