As far as cartoons on TV that have been turned into mobile games, we’ve seen the likes of The Simpson, Family Guy, Adventure Time, and so on. However interestingly enough we have yet to see a game that is based on the popular Futurama, which for those unfamiliar is another cartoon series put together by the creators of The Simpsons.

While it seems that the cartoon series on TV has come to an end, the good news is that the creators of the series aren’t quite done with it yet. In an announcement on the official Futurama Facebook page, it seems that we will be getting a Futurama mobile game in the near future.

Dubbed Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow, gamers who are interested in it can sign up to be kept in the loop. There is no set release date yet and as far as features of the game are concerned, we know pretty much next to nothing, except for the fact that it will be (obviously) based on the TV series.

Based on the comments of the announcement, it seems that not everyone is that excited for it simply because most of the other games that are similar are mostly apps that encourage gamers to spend money on in-app purchases. Will Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow break that cycle? It seems unlikely, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
