Apple has already confirmed that it’s going to conduct an event on September 12th. The company is likely going to launch its much rumored iPhone 8 at the event alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. It’s unclear at this point in time when it will start taking pre-orders for the new handset and when the iPhone 8 will be released. A new report claims that the iPhone 8 pre-orders will go live on September 15th.

Citing two sources within German carriers, Macerkopf reported today that Apple is going to start taking pre-orders for the iPhone 8 starting September 15th. It’s not known for sure right now if this is the date that Apple has communicated to its carrier partners or if they’re assuming it based on history.

Take the iPhone 7 for example. It was unveiled on September 7th last year with pre-orders going live on September 9th. The device started shipping one week later on September 16th. Apple is expected to follow a similar timeframe this year with the iPhone 8 being released on September 22nd.

Whether or not this really is the case remains to be seen. Apple won’t confirm anything before its September 12th. Until that happens, we are bound to see a lot of rumors and reports concerning the availability of Apple’s new flagship smartphone.
