You can already buy a lot of things on Amazon and it seems like soon you will also be able to order prescription medicines. According to a new report, the final decision on the Amazon online pharmacy is going to be made by the company soon. Amazon has reportedly been considering the idea to start selling medicines online.

CNBC reports that the company is in the final stages of figuring out its strategy of breaking into the prescription drug market that’s worth billions of dollars. According to an email from Amazon that was viewed by CNBC, Amazon is going to decide before Thanksgiving if it’s going to launch an online pharmacy.

Amazon normally spends a couple of years researching opportunities of hinting at its intentions of a future move. If the company decides to launch an Amazon online pharmacy, then it’s reportedly going to expand its senior team with drug supply chain experts.

Sources familiar with the company’s thinking say that Amazon is aware of the complexities of competing in the $560 billion U.S. prescription drug market. The company has reportedly consulted with dozens of people about moving into the pharmacy market.

Amazon has not commented on the report so it’s not entirely clear what the company’s intentions are at this point in time.
