It’s not common for Facebook to go down but it’s not like this hasn’t happened before. Facebook and Instagram are down for many users this morning, for no apparent reason. Many users have taken to Twitter to confirm that they’re unable to access the social network through the mobile app. They’re also experiencing difficulties in trying to access Instagram.
Many Facebook users are also heading to websites like Down Detector and Outage Report to find out if the social network is indeed down. Facebook appears to be having some issues since 11:11 AM this morning and the reason remains unexplained.
Reports about issues with logging into Facebook have come from different countries, including but not limited to Japan and the United States. Some reports from Europe can also be seen online.
Facebook hasn’t really said anything about this as yet. Even the social network’s official status page suggests that Facebook is running as it should be, but that’s clearly not the case right now.
The company might finally address what happened this morning once it’s done with ensuring that the server downtime has been taken care of. It may not take long, it’s not like Facebook is going to sit idle while a large portion of its user base is unable to log into their accounts.
