If you’re digging the weird and wonderful world of animated GIFs, then you might be interested to learn that Instagram seems to be rolling out support for adding GIFs in its Stories. This is according to a report from The Verge in which some users from certain parts of the world are reporting that they are now able to add GIFs via Giphy to their Stories.

This is based on a report from The Next Web back in November 2017 in which they spotted a bunch of new features that were headed towards the app, with GIF support being one of them. Given that Facebook and Giphy have a partnership that lets users insert GIFs into comments and Messenger via the Giphy search engine, it isn’t surprising to see that partnership extend to Instagram as well.

How it works is pretty straightforward where users can search for GIFs via the Giphy search engine and insert it into a Story. Once you’re done you’re pretty much good to go. Like we said only certain parts of the world are seeing this feature, such as Brazil, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Instagram issued a statement to The Verge which reads, “We’re always testing ways to improve the Instagram experience.” No word on when it will be rolled out in full, but we’ll definitely keep an eye out for it.
