Skinning your console isn’t a new thing and that’s what many gamers were looking forward to when the Nintendo Switch was first launched. However skin companies were quick to warn against skinning your skin due to the fact that the Switch had a weird coating that caused normal adhesives used by skins to peel off.
However the good news is that according to skin maker dbrand, it is now safe to start skinning your Switch consoles again, at least if dbrand is the brand that you prefer. The company has announced that they will be using new “Switch-exclusive” materials that will not damage your console.

According to dbrand, they claim that they have been working with 3M since their warning against skinning the Switch last year. “Since then, we’ve been working diligently alongside 3M to develop a unique adhesive – one which is engineered into every Nintendo Switch skin we offer and guarantees to remove with no damage to your Joy-Cons, Switch console, or Dock.”
There will be seven different glossy colors for users to choose from, along with a matte finish, a carbon fiber finish, and even a camo design. Note that the skins are only for the Joy-Cons, the console, and the dock, so if you wanted to jazz up the Pro Controller you’ll probably have to look elsewhere, such as Colorware.
