A couple of weeks ago, Torchlight Frontiers was officially announced. The launch trailer was in the same quirky style that we have come to expect from the series, which feels like a much lighter take on Diablo, but for those curious about how the actual game will look like, a new gameplay video has been released that you can check out in the video above.
For those unfamiliar, Torchlight Frontiers is the next installment in the Torchlight franchise that was originally developed by Runic Games. One of the reasons why the original series had so much attention paid to it was because of the involvement Max and Erich Schaefer, the co-founders of Blizzard North and also the creators of Diablo, which is why there was unavoidable comparisons drawn between both games.
Runic Games has since shut down and Torchlight Frontiers is now being developed by Echtra Games with the game being led by Max Schaefer, so for those worried that the new studio might not be able to replicate the magic of the original Torchlight games, worry not. There is no set release date for Torchlight Frontiers which was announced about six years after the last Torchlight game, but if you have a minute to spare, the gameplay video above could be worth checking out.
