Apple’s more recent iPhones support fast charging and according to the rumors, Apple could actually bundle a fast charger with its new iPhones. However it seems that might not be the case, at least according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who in a note to investors (obtained by MacRumors), Apple won’t be bundling fast chargers with its new iPhones.

According to the report, it seems that Apple will continue to bundle the 5W power adapter with its new iPhones, as opposed to the 18W power adapter that was previously rumored. It is unclear why that might be, but perhaps it could be cheaper to bundle the 5W version versus the 18W model.

That being said, users can always opt to get the 18W charger on their own if they wish. Granted it might cost them a bit more but if fast charging is a feature you absolutely need, then we guess you won’t have much of a choice. Apple is also expected to launch its AirPower charging mat soon so maybe that could be worth exploring as an alternative to wired charging.

Take it with a grain of salt for now but Apple will be officially revealing it all come 12th of September at its iPhone event, so remember to check back with us tomorrow if you’d like all the official details.
