There have been many rumors about Google working on a Pixel-branded tablet/convertible product. Some have suggested that this device may be called the Google Pixel Slate. There were reports to the contrary as well but the Google Pixel Slate moniker has surfaced yet again for this product from a source that’s deemed trustworthy.

AndroidPolice’s David Ruddock tweets that the name of Google’s first Chrome OS-powered tablet/convertible is Google Pixel Slate. He added that this name has been mentioned many times in the past in connection with this product and that he’s hearing this now from a source that’s trustworthy.

A leaked earlier this month possibly gave us our first look at this Chrome OS device from Google. The leak came from keyboard accessory maker Brydge’s website which appeared to show a render for the Google Pixel Slate.

It’s possible though that Brydge made this render itself based on product dimensions provided by Google as there are things about it that seem out of the ordinary for a Google device. That being said, it does give us an idea of what to expect from the device.

As for when this product is going to arrive is anybody’s guess. Whether or not Google unveils it alongside the new Pixel handsets due next month remains to be seen.
