The last time we saw a Halo game from the main series launched on the PC was Halo 2. There has been many wondering if Microsoft would ever bring the main series back onto the PC again, and back in 2016 it didn’t seem like the case. However that could change in the near future, thanks to new box art for Halo 5.

In the image above, it shows the new box/cover art for Halo 5 Guardians. So what’s changed, you ask? In the previous box art, there were words that said, “Only on Xbox One”. In this new art, it says, “Xbox One console exclusive”. Now those can mean two very different things, where the former would suggest that it is only available on the Xbox One and nowhere else.

The latter could mean that as far as consoles are concerned, Halo 5 is an exclusive to the Xbox One, but it doesn’t mean it couldn’t be available for other platforms as well, like the PC. Of course there is no confirmation from Microsoft or 343 Industries at the moment, but that’s what everyone seems to be speculating about.

Now we have seen in the past how some Xbox games can be played on the PC via Microsoft’s Play Anywhere feature, so maybe this could be a similar situation. Either way we’ll have to wait and see. Granted Halo 5 isn’t exactly a new game, but better late than never, right?
