Apple just announced their new iPhones and while the iPhone XR at $749 does represent a more affordable option compared to the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, it is still pretty pricey. It is understandable that there might be some iPhone owners who would rather cling onto their older devices to try and squeeze as much out of it as possible.

If you’d like to give your old iPhone new life, changing its battery could help and if you have yet to take advantage of Apple’s iPhone battery replacement program, you really should become come 2019, prices will be going up. At the moment Apple is charging customers $29 to replace the batteries on their older iPhones.

However this program will come to an end at the end of the year and starting January 1, 2019, those prices will be going up according to an updated support document which reveals that for all iPhones that are seeking out-of-warranty battery replacements, it will be priced at $49, save for the iPhone X which oddly enough will cost more at $69.

Given that Apple had previously charged customers $79 for battery replacements, a price hike of $20 isn’t too bad, but like we said if you have yet to take advantage of this offer (Apple is limiting this to one repair per iPhone), you probably should since you get to save yourself some money.
