At IFA 2018 a few weeks ago, Sony announced their latest flagship mobile phone, the Sony Xperia XZ3. Now Sony has been sort of taking a backseat in the smartphone business in recent times, where they have pulled out of certain markets, but that doesn’t mean that they do not care because it appears that in a bid to help encourage sales of the Xperia XZ3, Sony will be tossing in a free copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Announced on Sony’s website, it seems that customers who are willing to pre-order the Xperia XZ3 will be eligible to receive a free copy of the upcoming game. “For those of you in Europe, when you pre-order the stunning new Xperia XZ3, through selected retailers, you won’t just be first in line to experience the XZ3’s incredible new features, but will also receive a full digital download of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PlayStation 4 when it releases worldwide on October 12th!”

As Sony notes, this offer seems to be only available to customers in Europe, which we guess isn’t surprising since the US is one of the markets that Sony Mobile has reduced their focus on. Also note that this version of Black Ops 4 is for the PS4 version of the game, so Sony’s motives aren’t exactly altruistic.

This means that gamers who plan to play the game on their PC or who own an Xbox One will be out of luck and won’t be able to take Sony up on their offer. It does seem like a bit of a pity, but if you do own the PS4 and think that the Xperia XZ3 could be worth getting, why not save yourself some money in the process? More details can be found on Sony’s website.
