Electronic Arts has announced the launch of a new FIFA 19 eSports tournament for the PlayStation 4. This competition won’t be open to players on any other gaming platform and it begins this Saturday, October 6th. It will be the qualifier for a new tournament called the Continental Cup 2018 Presented by PlayStation which will take place during the Paris Games Week later this month. There are 31 spots available and players will be competing for them in this qualifier.

Up to 30 PS4 live and online EA Sports FIFA 19 events will take place in the weeks leading up to the main event in Paris. It will set the stage nicely for the Continental Cup 2018 Presented by PlayStation. In addition to that, PlayStation will be sponsoring many EA Sports FIFA 19 events across the globe throughout the 2018 and 2019 season.

“With PlayStation live events occurring around the world and airing on FS1, the PlayStation Network or leading esports digital channels such as Twitch and YouTube, we’re extending the global dream of making stars of all our players,” said EA’s Todd Sitrin.

Those who are interested in taking part in this competition can now sign up online for the qualifiers. Further details about the competition’s new points system are mentioned on EA’s website.
