If you’ve ever used Instagram’s Stories before, then you probably know how to navigate them. For those who don’t, basically you tap the left or right side to move through multiple Stories from a single user, or swipe left or right to go from user to user. Now it looks like Instagram wants to bring that navigation style to its feed.

According to a sighting and screenshot by user Suprateek Bose (via TechCrunch), it looks like Instagram is testing bringing the same navigational style to the user’s feed, where users can tap through posts the same way they would stories. Instagram has since confirmed that they are testing the feature in a statement that reads, “We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love.”

As TechCrunch points out, this seems like another way to ensure that users remain engaged with the app, which is actually rather ironic considering that a few months ago, the company introduced digital wellness tools to let users know when they’ve caught up with their feed. If anything this seems like it would suck the user further in.

They also point out that Instagram already employs an auto-advancing feature for its videos, where videos in the Explore tab will jump to the next video when it finishes. In any case no word on whether Instagram plans on keeping this feature around, but what do you guys think? Is this something you might be interested in seeing?
