OnePlus is now rolling out OxygenOS 5.1.6 which brings Project Treble support for the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. The latest firmware update that’s being rolled out for these devices also includes the most recent Android security patch. It improves Bluetooth stability for phone calls as well.

Google’s Project Treble enables device manufacturers to boot a generic Android image. What that means is that device makers like OnePlus can send out updates for their devices faster. OnePlus had been testing Treble support for these devices in the OxygenOS beta channel since June.

The company has taken a couple of months to bring Project Treble support for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T to the stable channel. In addition to this, the update also brings VoLTE support for IDEA, a mobile carrier in India. The feature will be on by default so there’s nothing that IDEA users have to do in order to use VoLTE.

OnePlus is rolling out the latest firmware update for the aforementioned devices in phases. It may take a couple of days before the OxygenOS 5.1.6 is available for users in all markets. Users can try checking for the update manually through the software update menu in the device’s Settings app.
