Ever since Hideo Kojima left Konami and formed Kojima Productions, many have been eagerly anticipating the game designer’s next game, Death Stranding, in which the game was originally announced back in 2016. It has been a couple of years since without word on the game’s progress, save for a few cryptic trailers here and there.

However it seems that we could finally see the game released in 2019, or at least that’s what many seem to believe. In a message posted by Kojima himself in the latest issue of Famitsu, Kojima references an imagery of one of the game’s trailers and says, “Is 2019 the year of the Whale? Please look forward to Death Stranding!”

It is possible that Kojima’s message could simply be that the game’s release date and details might only be revealed in full in 2019, but alternatively it could mean that the game could be released in 2019 as well. Given that it has been about 3 years since the game was first announced, it does feel that it is ripe for a release.

Either way if you are curious about the game, we guess 2019 will be the year in which we might be able to finally get more details on it, so do check back with us in 2019 for more updates.
