Epic recently announced the launch of its own online game store which it says will provide a fairer deal to game developers with 88 percent revenue sharing. To further entice PC gamers to get their games from its online store, Epic has announced that it will be offering a free game every two weeks through the Epic Games Store.

It wouldn’t obviously make sense to do this with Epic’s popular battle royale title Fortnite which is already free to play. Epic will actually be kicking things off with Subnautica which will be available for free through its online store from December 14th. The second title that will be offered for free will be Super Meat Boy. It will be available on December 28th. Supergiant Games’ new title Hades will also be available for free through the online store.

The company will be hoping that this entices PC gamers to ditch rivals like Steam for its nascent offering. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen, but many will appreciate the offer of free titles from Epic Games. Who doesn’t love free stuff, after all?

Epic Games has said that this promotion will continue into 2019 so it will likely keep offering free titles every fortnight for the foreseeable future.
