When it comes to teaching kids their ABCs and 123s, there are hundreds, if not thousands of books out there that try to accomplish that. However publisher Wizards of the Coast are hoping that with their latest educational books, they will be able to raise a generation of adventurers by launching a set of Dungeons & Dragons based books.

Dubbed The ABCs of D&D and The 123s of D&D, these are a pair of books that will teach children their ABCs and 123s, but will put it into the context of Dungeons & Dragons. The books aim to not only educate their readers, but will also introduce them to the world of Dungeons & Dragons, teaches them some of the key aspects of the game, and introduce various creatures from the game that will hopefully help spark the imagination of our young ones.

The books were written by Ivan Van Norman and illustrated by Caleb Cleveland and was initially launched on Kickstarter back in 2016 as the ABCs of RPGs. Following its success, the duo decided to work on a follow-up and pitched the idea to Wizards of the Coast where it was eventually tweaked to include references to Dungeons & Dragons.

We’re not sure how effective these books are at teaching kids, but if you grew up playing Dungeons & Dragons or have played games based on it, like Baldur’s Gate, and would love for a way to introduce your children to them, this could be it. Both the ABCs of D&D and 123s of D&D are priced at $10.52 each and are available for purchase on Amazon.
