Scrubbing on Netflix isn’t quite as easy compared to using apps such as VLC. This is because Netflix is streamed which means that when you try to scrub, it will need to pull that data from that particular point in the stream, and depending on your connection, could either be a fast or slow experience.

However according to a report from the LA Times, it seems that Netflix is now testing out a new feature which will allow users to instantly replay a particular scene that they were watching. How it works is that during certain scenes in a movie or a TV show, the feature will pop up that will give users the option to replay it.

This means that these scenes have been decided by someone to be “key” scenes that might be worth rewatching, and unfortunately this only seems to apply to a selection of Netflix’s original shows and licensed content, meaning that their entire library won’t get this feature, at least not yet.

Netflix has since confirmed that this feature is indeed in testing and may or may not roll it out in the future. “We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button. Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.”
