Crossovers have become a key tool for battle royale titles to retain their players. It has only been a few months since the last high-profile crossover for PUBG Mobile and today there’s news of another month. Not long after the Mission Impossible: Fallout event for PUBG Mobile, it has now been revealed that there’s going to be a Resident Evil 2 crossover for this popular title.

PUBG Mobile has become a very popular title in its own right. It has more than 100 million downloads and was recently recognized as the best game of the year in the annual Best Of list for the Google Play Store.

The news of this crossover has been teased by the Japanese Resident Evil Twitter account. The teaser video released shows a mix of PUBG’s abandoned streets with Resident Evil 2’s zombie attacks.

“PUBG MOBILE × Resident Evil RE: 2 collaboration is decided!,” according to the machine translated tweet, which asks “What kind of innovative play can be produced by combining the world’s most popular mobile game and survival horror’s monument, two super IPs?”

No further information has been provided so far about this crossover. It’s unclear when it’s going to be launched and for how long it will be available. No gameplay details have been shared as well at this point in time.
