For the longest time, Stardew Valley existed as a single-player game where gamers went about growing their farm, interacting with the villagers, and starting a family. However last year it was revealed that the game would be getting a multiplayer update, and last week it was announced that the version of the Switch would be coming soon.

It was revealed that the update had already been submitted to Nintendo for approval, and the good news is that according to a post by the game’s developer, that update should be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch later this week, or to be more specific, on the 12th of December, 2018.

According to the game’s developer, “You can invite 1-3 friends to join you in the valley, either starting from scratch or diving in from an existing single player save. Each player will have their own Cabin on the farm, and you’ll be able to work together to achieve common goals such as farming, mining, fishing, foraging and festival participation!”

The update also brings about some changes to the single-player aspect of the game, such as a Night Market, new character events, secret events, new collections, and most important of all, your horses can now wear hats! PC gamers have been able to enjoy the multiplayer feature for a while now, and the Switch will be next. As for PS4 and Xbox One gamers, it seems that your update will be coming at a later date.
