It is more or less a guarantee that Apple will be launching a new iPhone this year, but what can we expect from it? For the most part it’s easy to guess certain hardware specs, like the use of a new chipset presumably in the form of the A13 (the 2018 iPhones featured the use of the A12 Bionic).

However what about the rest of the specs? According to the folks at CompareRaja, they have gotten the details thanks to a collaboration with Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as @OnLeaks. According to the details, one of the interesting points they mentioned is that the 2019 iPhones will continue to use Lightning port.

This is versus previous reports which claim that the new iPhones will start using USB-C. With the iPad Pros already making the switch to USB-C, it makes sense that the iPhones will as well, although to be fair we suppose there’s no telling when that change will take place. The report also claims that the iPhones will feature upgraded cameras, where its front-facing camera will be upgraded from a 7MP sensor to a 10MP sensor.

Previous renders have also suggested that the new iPhones could be sporting a triple camera design. Other rumors also include how Apple will continue to use LCDs for at least one of the models this year, where it is only in 2020 that the company will make the complete shift to OLED. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but do you think that Apple should continue using Lightning for this year’s iPhones?
