For years ever since the game was announced, many have been wondering when Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding will be released. Some have speculated that it might only be released in time for the next-gen consoles, but it seems that we might not have to wait that long as we could be looking at a 2019 release.

This is according to a post on Reddit in which it was spotted that a pre-order card from Best Buy Canada had stated that the game would be “available” this year. No specific dates were mentioned so for all we know, we might have to wait until the end of the year (hopefully that won’t be the case).

That being said, a release in 2019 might not necessarily be completely out of the question. Last year Kojima himself had teased that the game could be released this year. Either Best Buy Canada’s pre-order card was based on Kojima’s tweet, or if they might have some kind of inside knowledge about the game’s release schedule that we don’t know about.

Either way we’ll have to wait for some kind of announcement before we can be certain, so take it with a grain of salt for now. At this point in time, little to nothing is known about the actual story of the game itself. There have been some reports of how some people have managed to get a glimpse of the game and were blown away by it, but like we said, for the rest of us we’ll just have to wait and see.
