Several years ago, YouTube launched a community feature where it acted like a little social media platform of sorts where creators could share photos and post updates that keeps their followers updated on what they are doing. These posts appeared in a separate community tab on YouTube.

However according to a report from Android Police, it looks like the community features have since been moved to the main page of YouTube. Note that the actual community tabs themselves are still around and can be found on the channel’s page, but now these posts can also be found on the main page itself so you don’t need to go searching for updates as it will surface them all in one location.

This feature has actually been available for the mobile app for a while now so it looks like the desktop version of YouTube is catching up. These changes shouldn’t really affect your viewing or browsing experience. In fact we imagine that it should actually enhance it as it means that you will be able to see and find more updates from the content creators you follow as well as get updates from other channels that YouTube thinks you might like.

For those who aren’t a fan of these posts, unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to hide them so we guess you’ll just have to get used to it.
