Late last month a listing on a gaming retailer’s website revealed that Ubisoft could be looking to bring the Assassin’s Creed 3 collection to the Nintendo Switch. It turns out the rumors were right because Ubisoft has since officially announced Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered which will be launching on the console come May 21.

According to Ubisoft, “Assassin’s Creed III Remastered will launch on May 21 for Nintendo Switch, bringing two full Assassin’s Creed adventures to Nintendo’s console. In addition to Connor’s titular adventure through the American Revolution – which includes all its original DLC, including alternate-history adventure The Tyranny of King Washington – Assassin’s Creed III Remastered also includes Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered, which follows chameleonic Assassin Aveline de Grandpre’s fight for freedom in 18th-century New Orleans and Chichen Itza.”

This is actually not the first time that an Assassin’s Creed game has found its way onto the Switch. Previously the company had launched Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the Switch, but the catch was that it was only playable through a game streaming service in Japan. The Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered launch will mark the franchise’s “proper” launch for the console. No word on pricing yet, but it will be available in the coming months so we should have the details soon.
