Carriers in the United States will be launching their mobile 5G networks this year and Verizon has now confirmed the date for its launch. Big Red has confirmed that its mobile 5G network is going to be launched on April 11th. It will also begin to sell the 5G Moto Mod for the Moto Z3 so that users can actually take advantage of 5G speeds.

The 5G Moto Mod for the Moto Z3 will cost $349.99 at retail but Verizon wants customers to pre-order it. For that reason, it’s offering the 5G Moto Mod for $50, that’s a pretty significant discount compared to the retail price. Pre-orders open March 14th.

Verizon will exclusively be selling the 5G Moto Mod in the country. Customers will be required to have an active Moto Z3 on their Verizon account before they can purchase it. If they don’t have one, they will be required to purchase a Moto Z3 at the same time as they pre-order the Moto Mod.

The carrier’s mobile 5G network will be launching in Chicago and Minneapolis first on April 11th. It will then gradually begin rolling it out to more cities across the country. Verizon will also sell other 5G compatible devices later this year, including the 5G variant of Samsung’s Galaxy S10.
