In fact, to encourage gamers to try and donate money towards the cause, Ubisoft has announced that for one week, they will be giving away a free copy of Assassin’s Creed Unity. This is only available for PC and gamers who are interested will be able to download a copy of the game for free through Uplay PC.
According to Ubisoft, “In light of Monday’s events, we will be donating €500,000 to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral. We encourage all of you who are interested to donate as well. In addition, we want to give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how. For one week, we will be giving Assassin’s Creed Unity away free on PC, for anyone who wants to enjoy it.”
It was previously reported that Assassin’s Creed could play a role in helping to rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral. This is due to the fact that for the most part, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is based on actual historical locations, meaning that Ubisoft had to be pretty diligent and faithful with their reconstruction of the landscape, which some believe could be used to help rebuild the historical landmark.
