Console makers typically create games that are exclusive to their platforms. This is done so that it will entice gamers to choose their platform when trying to decide between consoles. For example, Sony has God of War, Nintendo has The Legend of Zelda, and Microsoft has its Forza racing franchise.

The Forza series has typically been only available on Microsoft’s Xbox platform, but it seems that the company has decided to open it up to more platforms by launching a new title in the Forza series. Dubbed “Forza Street”, this is a free-to-play title that has been announced for iOS and Android devices along with Windows 10.

This means that for the first time ever, Microsoft has decided to open up its Forza franchise to non-Xbox and non-Windows devices. According to Microsoft, “In Forza Street, new Forza fans and seasoned drivers alike can collect and assemble a legendary lineup of cars to compete in intense, cinematic races. Whether players want to squeeze in a quick one-minute race or get immersed in a story campaign, every race is a chance to earn a performance icon from an ever-growing list of incredible cars, turning your garage into a trophy case.”

The game is currently available on Windows 10 and is expected to be made available on iOS and Android devices later this year, so mobile gamers should keep their eyes peeled for more information.
